DVD recorders and Sky+

Hope this is in the right place!
My Sky+ is almost full, with lots of things I don't want to delete, so I've decided to but a dvd recorder to transfer them onto dvds.
I've looked at DVD recorders online, but can't seem to find an answer to this question - do I need anything in particular in a dvd recorder, or will any be able to record from my sky+?
Would appreciate any advice, thanks!

You can record from Sky box to a DVD recorder via Scart cable. I'm also inclined to ask, why bother?0

Thanks, that's great. There's a lot of stuff on tv that isn't repeated, hence why I want to put them on dvd.

I got an LG one at Argos a few weeks ago for the same reason, it;s an upscaling one, so it upscales the dvds to HD quality, it's very good and was easy to connect (for a change lol), was about £1190

And there are some real cheapies around the £50 mark on Richard Sounds bargain section if you don't mind a non-Bluray, non-Freeview DVD recorder, one of these will tide over till the blu-ray recorder proposition becomes compelling.0

PLEASE NOTE that many programmes on Sky+ have Macrovision. This will screw around with the AGC on any recorder and result in a picture that varies all the time in colour and contrast.0

This would not surprise me at all, why would Sky allow you to record for free when they want £10/month minimum just to use Sky+ to record Freeview programs?0
-
why dont you put in a bigger hard drive?
easy enough done, went from 20hrs of recording time (40Gb hd) to 250gb (125hrs or recording time)
doa google search on upgrading sky hard drive.0 -

I've gone for this one too. However, I don't need the freeview as I already have the SKy+. Bit confused about setting it up now
Should I just replace the current dvd player with this new dvd recorder, or is there a way to connect this completely (i.e. as a dvd and hard drive recorder) without affecting the sky+, so effectively giving me two hard drives, as well as the dvd recorder? Does that even make sense to anyone else? lol
