Do I go and get mail with underpaid postage?

I had a card through the door on 23/12 for item with underpaid postage.. it's £1.17 which means postage was underpaid by 17p... am I right in thinking this is probably one of the Xmas cards caught in the trap of size?
If it's a real parcel and I don't collect it when will RM return to sender? Cheers

If there's a return address on it then they'll return to sender, I think. The last couple of times I've collected underpaid mail it's been because someone set their franking machine wrong - and I didn't want the letter anyway. I don't bother any more.0

Go and have a look at it, you don't need to take it either. Was down the depot the other week and the person in front of me PAID for a Xmas card from a Labour Councillor, which had no stamp on it. Gave us all a giggle.0

More than likely a christmas card, but it could be an oversize letter. Unless you are expecting some important mail, I would not bother."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Either a xmas card or letter with only a 2nd class stamp on it, probably a card. Personally wouldn't bother myself.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

I had to go on Christmas Eve to get a birthday card for my son (21 on 24/12!) The card had a stamp on but was oversized so had to pay £1.08!!!0

I suppose that it all depends how much you want to know what was in the package. If you were expecting a cheque then go and get it. If not, then I certainly would not bother. If the sender can't be bothered enough to put the correct postage on, then they don't really care whether you get it or not. 90% of our mail is circulars and junk mail anyway.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Maybe everytime someone gets one of these cards they should educate the sender on large postage stamps. RM make a killing out of this at this time of year. Trust me, I know, I'm the numpty in our office writing out all those grey postcards4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
