OK, We all know you are fantagalistic and have a most perfect life in The Land of Dreams (though I have heard it is cold, wet and windy most of the year) but things can happen Hamish, at anytime, random, damn horrible things so you shouldn't crow. It's not good form.

Well you have managed to completely miss the point.

I fully accept that there is a chance anyone can be made redundant. Myself included.

Just as I accept that every time I get in a car, or cross the road, I could get in an accident.

The chances of any of those things happening is still vanishingly small though. No matter how cold, icy or recessionary the environment may be in Aberdeen or anywhere else.

I don't get why people allow their life to be overcome by irrational fear.

Just as I don't get why you have to be so bl00dy obnoxious in response to what was a genuine post.

Obnoxious? Moi? I thought I was being nice......really nice actually.:o

I just don't see the ''irrational fear'' that you see on this board. I see caution (too much sometimes, maybe, but who am I to judge,,,diff people have diff tolerance levels) and you seem to post in a style of what you do is the template for success and happiness and the rest of us are just flayling around the edges trying to keep up....which is not the case.

I posted a quote from a user who stated, "the vast majority of people are worried sick about their jobs".

The "vast majority" are "worried sick"?

That doesn't sound like irrational levels of fear to you?
