Nope i dont live on £10 dummy! :rotfl:

*I get discretionary housing benefit that covers all but £40 of my monthly rent.
*£160pm JSA after £40 for the rent,
*Have roughly £500 left over from the late holiday payment that i got a few weeks ago from a previous job, but already spent the other £600 of it buying stuff that i needed, so dont really need to buy anything else now anyways.
*£823 total money recieved as christmas money, so will spread that over 8months at £100pm.
*Will be getting £995 tax-rebate in march/april as i came just under the 6k total PAYE earnings this year, so get all my tax back.
And so will be spreading that out over 10months at £100 extra per month.
*And my parents pay for all my food,
so the only bills i actually need to pay from my £160pm are my sky+internet (£26), o2 phone bill (£21), electricity (£14), bt line rental (£12),
and so then have £87 per month, each month, left from my jsa to just be spent on clubbing/clothes... ect

And the 3 cash lump sums which will add an extra £100 cash spending money per month, each month, for the next 23months. :o:rolleyes:

So dont try saying that i only have £10 to go shopping with, when ya haven't really got a clue about my finances! :p;)

I think what really irked people are two things:
1/ bragging about buying 110 pairs of those jeans so that you can make a profit.
Fair enough, but you have to remember that not everyone has £110 to spend on something, even if it's an investment. Moreover, those who will end up buying your goods might be those who couldn't benefit from the glitch because you bought so much stock, there wasn't any left for others.

2/ You are living on benefits. So are many people, however not all of them have parents "who buy all their food", so they have to actually survive on the amount you manage to save thanks to your relatively lucky circumstances.

So, yes, people will be bitter when you mention how much you spent, and how you spent it to then make a profit, because the majority of people living on benefits cannot afford to spend that much in the first place.
Being able to afford it is one thing. Bragging about it is another.

I don't think any of it has been being able to apparently buy the 110 pairs but the attitude, the benefits and the not declaring anything that should be to DWP and housing that got peoples backs up,especially when hoping to claim more because they're so skint they can't afford anything (apart from 110 pairs of jeans and 2 32 inch lcd tvs to sell on ebay that is!)

Overall I agree with you though and some people really need to think!

Yep I have to agree, it's a shame really. Atleast some people managed to take advantage of the glitch before it turned b*tchy.

I didn't want to mention the obvious non-declaration of income.

I agree on the attitude problem though! However, just as you get idiots in real life, you're gonna get idiots online too. C'est la vie! :p
  • Where are all the moderators when you need um, this post has got beyond a joke , i wasnt gonna comment again after earlier , but just cant believe its got to this.

The moderators should of taken this off by now its one big playground brawl or as good as , all over 1.00 pair of jeans and someone showing of about how many they had bought as well.

  • Going off topic from the current one:p but has anyone else heard anything RE cancellations? Has your order status changed at all? Some of you were having delivery date for 29th?
On a good note my nice £16 studded boots should be here tomorrow:j though with the weather here (it's currently -10!!):eek: I don't think I will get the chance to wear them!
  • Fair enough, il go away now then if thats how people feel. :(

And for the 2nd poster, you can say i should declare to dwp to get my benefits cut even further... ect,
but ive got an idea for you, why dont you phone them up and say to them ''on your website it says that claimants whos lha rate doesnt meet their rent have to 'bridge the gap themself', where do you expect those claimants to get that money from though and how are they able to use it to bridge the gap, without merely having it deducted from their other benefits??''.

Actually I do have sympathy for such a situation. The benefits system really is a shambles and whilst we bend over backwards to help waifes and strays from all over the world, we continue with a system which disenfranchises those who try to improve their lot.......the whole system is designed to stop you sinking, not to actually help you back on your feet and yes many on benefits do 'a little' one way or another to help ends meet but, the problem many will have with you is you flaunt it to the point that it appears like you are abusing the system rather than doing 'a bit' to get by which most would happily turn a blind eye to.

As max said, its all about attitude.

That doesn't excuse those who just seem intent on just slaggin you off.
