Is this spam?

I received an e-mail this morning from a finance company stating that my loan had been approved and all I had to do was click on a link. The thing is I have never applied for a loan in fact I am in the process of paying off half my mortgage so I don't understand. I have not clicked on the link but I am a wee bit concerned about this. Is this standard to spam in this way? I hope I've posted in the right board...shrewdal

Yes Spam, and probably a link to a nice little virus / phishing scam of some sort !
