  • Just a newbie seeking this VERY DIFFICULT to source 'TV' - having no luck either!! I think the only financial benefit will be reaped by the phone companies, due to all our calls in a desperate attempt to locate the item.....
  • Well I seem to be one of the lucky ones I managed to get one in the Ayr store!!! Irvine had some yesterday but they walked out the door I phoned Ayr after someone posted they had stock and they confirmed they had 18. By the time I had got mine they were down to 3. People were buying two and three at a time I felt a bit left out with only 1 in my trolley.

I hope everyone that wants one gets one this is my first bargain after many tries this last couple of weeks i seem to be the one after they had just sold the last one but finally got one. Hurray for me !!!
Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j
  • I rang my local store today (Hartlepool) who told me theyd sold out today, but getting a new stock delivery in at midnight...no idea if they will be recieving any but its worth a try.

Hence Im sat here killing time till ten to twelve in the hope theyve got new stock in

I was on the phone with tesco direct today and they have a looped message saying they don't know when they'll next get delivery so check with the local store.

Unfortunately the reason why I was on the phone is the remote to my 6 month old technika 32" has broken and they can't send me a new remote so I'm getting a replacement TV!!

For those above arguing about 720 vs 1080, the quality of the image processing is more important and this Tesco TV is actually one of the worse TVs I have ever seen.

Put it alongside a decent brand (300 pound) 720 TV and I guarantee that if you judge your TV solely on 720 or 1080, you'll think this one is the 720.

Standard definition handling is shocking (almost unviewable), motion blur is the worst I have ever seen and the contrast (particularly the black level) is a joke.

This is the sort of TV that someone who spends 50 quid on a 10MP camera or 80 quid on a full suspension disc brake mountain bike will buy.

    Avoid like the plague!!!
  • It may be the sort of tv someone who would pay £50 for a 10mp camera would buy......but in both cases its all I can afford.

For £199 otherwise all Id be getting was a 19 inch so please try not to judge the people who can only afford to buy these items and nothing 'superior' , its not out of greed but necessity.

Surely this is a forum for getting bargains? Which is what I'm saying. You'll get better value for money by looking at what you can expect for 200 pounds. Hence the camera analogy, a 5 mega pixel digital camera for 50 pounds will almost certainly better than a 10 MP etc.....

A 199 pound 1080p TV for 199 pounds is not a bargain because compromises on quality of components have to be made to get that 1080p badge which is essentially worthless!
  • Got my confirmation e-mail today saying mine had been dispatched for delivery on wed 30th Dec, then strangely got a text message saying it would be delivered on or before Tues 29th Dec ( can hardly be before as its the 29th now lol)
so hopefully should be arriving very soon
