thanks for this! my 8 year old and i spent some time going through and we found 2 girls, one a little younger than her, one slightly older to write to. two emails sent and gifts to go out soon.
my wee one has gone through her room collecting some treasures for the girls, brought a huge smile to my face, especially when i warned her that one of the girls was very ill and may not live very long her reply was 'well then, she really really needs a friend and a smile right now doesn't she' can't argue with that...0 -
This is a great site, thanks for posting!
Just one thing, is there an upper age limit for children on the site? I only ask because I noticed one child was born in 1990, which makes her nearly 20.
Please don't shout at me, I don't begrudge any sick person getting letters and so on, but I just wondered what age the children go up to?I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
LazyDaisy- its for kids aged 2-18 but a few kids joined when under 18 and are now older. The plan has always been to move them onto Post Pals Plus for 18-30 year olds but we haven’t been able to set it up yet (partly due to my health and partly due to the current children not getting enough post, my aim has always been for each child to get 1 piece of post most days but that means we would need 50400 pieces of post send a month! I’m really hoping to get Post Pals Plus done this year though.
Awww confuzzled, that is so sweet, it made me well up! What lovely kids you haveBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

I ( on behalf of my Daughter whos 3) send Gifts to quite a few of the little girls on postpals regularly for over a year its so rewarding to know u are bringing just a little smile to a sick childs face... had a beautiful Christmas card from a postpals mum saying how much of a differenceit makes... doesnt even have to be a presrents even a colourful postcard is exciting for them... just knowing others care
Charis XI can only please one person a day.... Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either!!very greatful for almost everything i read on MSE (except for the nasties!)0 -
Well, I think this is one of the most sad yet amazing things i've ever read about. That little girl on Youtube, for the price of a couple of pounds toy, which lets face it would be the cost of a cup of coffee in town, got an amazing little girl smiling through an horrible time.
Vicki you are an amazing woman in your own right.
Can I ask... Is this just brand new toys that are accepted? Only ask as my sister has a load of little boy toys which she is throwing away and sorting through at the moment i would like to pass on?Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
I too would like to know if its ok to send 'used' toys,of course only ones in un-damaged good clean condition.
I usually pass them on to charity shops, but love this idea so much better :A
and to know who will recieve it.
I have three children between 3-13 yrs and to think of any of them becoming ill is well unthinkable.
an amazing idea!0 -
vikki_louise,I have just been watching the video's and looking on your site, may I say what an incredible person you are and I wish you and postpals all the very best for the coming year.0

PostPals is a brilliant cause and I've intended to write to a few of the kids on there before but I just don't know what to say. If anyone on here has written before or does so regularly I'd be happy to receive any tips!
There are details about the childrens' likes & dislikes - so I talked about that in my letter. About how I like High School Musical too, but I've never seen i-Carly, etc. Also it said she had a sister, so I said I had a brother, but wish I had a sister for playing with. Just little things, nothing profound!
I also didn't have a gift that was suitable or I could afford the postage for, so I just put in a few stickers that I had spare. Not a lot, but hope it helps!Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93
