Do you mean the Purely wet? They do small tins, pouches and trays, the small tins are by far the best value at £2.80 per kilo. The small tins do only come in fish flavours so the Feline Fayre is better value whilst on the £1 offer.

Ah yes, she had the little tray and loved it :) though I too prefer Feline Fayre because it has actualy chunks of fish in it :D Plus she always clears her bowl when she has them.

The Purely small tins have big chunks of fish, very similar the same as the Feline Fayre. I haven't tried the Purely little trays as they were too expensive! The only benefit of Purely over FF is that Purely is complete and FF not, but most of us are feeding a complete kibble on the side, so it's not really an issue, especially given that FF is half the price of Purely at present!! :money:

Just to say the Feline Fayre multipacks weren't in the usual aisle, they were in a specific "pet event" aisle - my two love them, I bought 5 boxes! Although I have to hold my breath when I open them, can't stand the fishy smell!

From what I remember the smokies cat trays are only 4% meat and animal derivatives. I was in there the other week and noticed they were carrying it and put it back simply because of the low quality meat. Will have to double check though, I can't find the brand online

Maybe, I was standing there looking at all the different types of catfood we sell and comparing meat quantity etc (I mean working hard, of course :A ) so I might be getting confused between them all, but from what I remember there was some Happy Shopper or similar brand pate tins with 4%, Smokies pouches were 40%, and the FF tuna tins were 70%. I'm in tomorrow though so I'll write it all down and report back. Might pick up a pack of the FF to try it, and just give a tin as an occassional treat.
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

My local Asda does not stock Feline fayre, so I have just had a little trip out to a larger one. I bought large tins of tuna flavour for 49p reduced from 59p,opened one and it smells and looks like old fashioned cat food from when I was growing up. So far a luke warm response.
They had 4 pouches for £1 but I did not see the special offer of 8 for £1 mentioned above...was that sachets or small tins or what?

It was sachets (85g). I have two Asda's local to me & did not see the FF in one but they were in the other, as I said above they weren't in the pet food aisle, they were in a specific pet event aisle.

I know we all have different opinions (and quite strong ones too when it comes to our pets :D ) but I don't agree with what I have quoted at all.

Coco ate cheap cat food for the whole of her life and when she died she was over 15 years old. She died of cancer, nothing to do with the food she ate. During her life she was rarely at the vet as she was such a healthy girl.
We have had Lily for a couple years now and whilst with us she has only had Tesco own brand of dry biscuits and a variety of tinned wet meats.(she's very fussy) She will also quite often catch her own food
At last check up she was perfect weight and in excellent general health.
She has only been to the vet when we thought she had been shot but turned out she had a fight with another animal and had injured her leg.

Like humans, if cats eat only meat the chances of getting cancer are v high indeed. Try adding a teaspoon of baby food or wholemeal breadcrumbs into their protein so that they get a balanced diet. Vitamins A & C found in fruit and veg are anti-oxidants & the E vitamin is also an anit-oxidant found in fish oils etc - great for fighting & warding off cancer.

I think it would be pretty hard to actually KILL a cat by feeding it raw, but I agree some research is needed to make sure one is feeding a balance of meat to bone etc

Thanks for the link princessleah...I think the 400g tins still work out cheaper and are probably more practical as I feed 4 cats at a time.
