LOL I succumbed to panic buying today. Which is just a tad annoying since I'd sat down 3 nights ago and written out a strict shopping and meal plan for January using the plentiful supplies in freezer and cupboards.........
I can't get the car out and am not sure when I will be able to do(looooonnnng drive) which is a totally alien feeling for me. Can walk to the shop - only about 15 mins walk when there is no snow so the walk at the moment I guess would be mildly unpleasant but certainly do-able.
My fab dad drove me to an appt today and on the way back we stopped at shop. I was only nipping in for few Mushrooms, Kidney beans and 2 Bananas. I don't know what came over me but I just went crazy. I kept thinking 'I don't know when I'll next get to the supermarket........perhaps NEVER!'. (Bearing in mind its a 15 min walk away). I looked like a maniac muttering to myself throwing things in my basket....but I don't think anyone noticed because they seemed to be doing the same thing. I just got caught up in it all. That's my excuse mi'lord and I'm sticking to it.
I did put some items back. I looked like I was doing the hokey-kokey at one point with a box of porridge (in-out, in-out). Had a last minute change of heart at the till regarding a jumbo bag of pasta but still spent £11 and only £1 of this was spent on the original 3 items I actaully wanted. Damn and blast it
A NON-NSD for moi. Quelle surprise.....
On a 'positive' note - my Dad saved me £3.50 busfare or taxi fare and my friend has cancelled her birthday takeaway due to no-one being able to get there. I also managed to get train tickets to London (for theatre night in March) for £20. Ding dong. I have never got them for less than £50 before so am dead chuffedalthough might not be on the day as I have a ridiculous amount of connections to make :rotfl:
Am sorry - I can never keep it short. I talked my Dad's head off whilst we were in the waiting room earlier
How are you guys doing?0 -
