Today is my second NSD day of Jan. Holidays are great because you can just hide away at home and despite the fact that I need milk and marg, I have stayed away from the shops today.:j

Im hoping for a very frugal Jan and hope to exceed my NSD aim of 17. Have a great month all.:D

....see how much we are spending on food each month and try to bring it down. Off to old Style now for yummy ideas to keep spending down....
I've put some links for threads I've found handy on the front page. The monthly Grocery Challenge is good for scrummy recipes if nothing else!

spend day for me :( had to get stuff for lunches
Hi Claire :hello:..I found it really helped to decide exactly what I wanted to count as a Spend at the beginning of my first Challenge attempt & as such I do include any food but not the bills. My reasoning is that I can usually make a meal out of what is already in my cupboards--even if it's only egg & chips :p--but I have to pay the bills  Other folk do not include food as it is an "essential".
May I suggest you have a good think about it & then carry on with the Challenge, following the rules as they apply to your household. It is of no concern to anyone else what those Rules are; you have to make them work & you have to live with the consequences. Good Luck m'dear & Keep Posting. x

    1st NSD for me today :j 1/15

Tomorrow is going to have to be a spend day as I will need to buy lunch. I will try and get myself a sealed tin as well, for another challenge. Then I have nothing standing in the way on lots more NSDs.

Good luck Webitha - you go for it put the extra money in a tin from not buying ciggys or baccy and use that as a motivational tool. - does your healthboard do any special smoking clinics? in our area pharmacies give extra support and can supply these products direct on prescription but you have to go once a week for checks and support - remember a pre-payment certificate in Scotland is only £13 for 4 months - not sure about England.

Well thats me on day three without spending, so doing really well.

Will need to buy rolls tomorrow, and will take my lunch with me, so should only need to spend about ~£1.50. Made Ham and Egg pie for tea and was so determined I wasn't going to the shop for bacon trawled the freezer and found four slices in the deep beyond so didn't have to go!!!
Good luck for the next week folks
