Ryanair flight cancellation query?
tece
I have just looked in my junk mail and have found an email from Ryanair dated 23.12.09 advising that my flight from Doncaster Sheffield next summer has been cancelled.
I intend to take the second option they have given me:-
Option 2
Transfer free of charge onto alternative Ryanair flights from nearby airports where the same destination is available. Please contact Ryanair reservations. Click below for details.
My query to anyone who can help as the contact centre is not open until tomorrow but the priority line is open today at 10am (£1 a min) is will I be charged the additional fare as it is now now higher than when I booked in October or from anyones experience do they transfer you without incurring any additional charges.
Commonsense tells me that the transfer will be seamless without additional cost onto a flight at EMA however as I'm worrying about this I thought that I would check this out on here until I can call them tomorrow unless anyone has any loopholes around the 0871 number.
Many thanks in anticipation of any advice given.

I meant 0905 number in the above post which I've tried to call and got the message the other person has hung up. Hope it hasn't cost me £1 to be told that. I will try again and I've also found out about saynoto0870 website so will take a look on there.0

they should transfer you without any additional charges...."free of charge"0

Thank you Caz3121 I thought that would be the case. I have called them on the 0905 number 3 times now and still get the other person has hung up message so will try them again tomorrow when the call centre should be fully open.0

I agree with Caz. Ryanair have their little ways, but one of them seems to be to take it on the chin when they make an operational decision like that. Meantime, just be careful not to click on the links to any other options :eek:0

Yep, I have transfered to other airports of 3 different flights to more expensive ones every time-cos I always book the 1p /$5/$10 flights! They were very helpful and charming and willing to move me to another option of my choice. It does pay however to have done your homework and know what flight you want to change to as I don't think they are willing to find you a flight.0

Thank you peterbaker and cannyscot that is the extra reassurance that I needed. Now how long will I be in the queue when Customer Services open at 10am this morning!! :rolleyes:0

To update that I got through to Ryanair Customer Services within a couple of rings and I am now transferred onto a flight from EMA on the same date just a little later in the day for exactly the same price. I was fretting as the EMA flights were more expensive than Doncaster when we booked and now more so two months down the line.
I wonder if Easyjet now flying to Barcelona from Doncaster following them pulling out of EMA has anything to do with Ryanair cancelling their Girona route from Doncaster.
Thank you once again Caz3121, peterbaker & cannyscot for your re-assurances.0
