Boots returns questions

Thanks Karen, but what if I didn't have my receipt/card with me? Would they know I'd paid with points when they scan the first item back in?
They wont, but if it has gone down in price you will only get that amount not the amount you paid. Also if you then want to return the second item you will get back the cash amount you paid and a store credit for the rest as you didnt have a receipt0 -
I was hoping someone might know the answers to the following...
1. Do Boots accept make up returns?
2. What happens with returning items on a 3 for 2 offer? Do you have to return all 3 or can you just return 2?
Thanks
Sarah
With makeup, at my store its now up to the SA to decide on wether to return the product on conditions if there is a genuine problem with it ect; Firstly offereing an exchange, then gift card and would rarely give a refund. But like I said, depends on the store and how nice the SA is. Our actual policy is no refunds on makeup but for good customer service my store do it and make a loss on the product for keeping customers 'sweet'
With 3 for 2's.
Firstly you will be offered an exhange for the item to an equal value as long as its another christmas gift. If this is not suitable for you then depending on which item is returned depends on the amount you recieve back.
1). £10.00
2). £7.00
3). £5.00 *free item*
So you payed, £17.00 for all three.
If you want to return either item 1 or 2, the cost of Item 3 will be deducted from the refund balance. So instead of recieving the full £17.00 back you would recieve £12.00.
Only give an exchange really for item 3, as the rfund would be nothing an completely pointless
If you want to return item 1 or 2 and 3 (so two items) you wouldn't get the money back for item 3.
Hope that cover everything, and the money won't beput onto a gift card.

Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.

Hi all
On the back of Boots receipts it says medicines, cosmetics and food cannot be exchanged or refunded unless faulty. Fair enough.
I consider cosmetics to mean make-up, but do they have a different definition?
Reason I ask is that I bought some suntan lotion (Soltan) the other day and have realised it's the wrong kind. It's not sealed but I have not opened it. If I go back with my receipt and Advantage Card, how likely is it that they'll allow me to exchange (and pay the difference) for the kind I want?

Many people on the Boot's thread have taken make up back if they have had a reaction to it with no problems. I've taken a mascara back due to it clogging up & I changed it for a differant brand. It came with a free gift too but I got to keep it. I think it depends on who you get on the day really.
Suzey I'm sure you'll have no problems, especially with you having the receipt as well. Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker
