Thanks for that. I did try the Boots website but couldn't find the relevant information. I bought 3 make-up sets for £10 so will see what my local store says...
But thank you for the information!0 -
They do take the advantage card points back... i recently placed an order online which got lost in transit. As a result i cancelled the order and i when i next went to pay for something with my advantage points the checkout lady had to wait whilst it updated itself and deducted my points. I've taken something back to the store before and you have to hand them your card so they can swipe it to remove your points, although i guess you could just say you didn't have your card on you.0

Its an interesting idea because I don't think your points can go below zero so if you had spent them all and then returned something there wouldn't really be anything they could do, unless you did it a few times in which case I imagine they'd cancel your card.
Btw, if you don't present your card when you return an item instore the points are automatically taken off next time you use your card.0 -

Your points can actally go below zero. They went into minus for a friend of mine after she'd spent all her points and returned something. She has a negative balance now. Dunno what they would do if you never used the card again though.

Yup my mum works in Boots so I asked her. You can have a negative points balance, there's not a lot they can do about that if you decide not to re-earn those points though, so far as we are aware.
They often have to tell people that they can't accept returns on make up, though if it is part of a still sealed gift pack (that is boxed) you might find a branch/assistant willing to accept them.
If you want to return one item from a 3 for 2 you need to take in all 3 items.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
This is just slightly off-topic but I wonder if anyone can help with my question?
I've just bought a Braun epilator in Boots as they're a third off at the mo, and had just enough points to pay for one that's around £45. However I really wanted the one that's about £65, normally £100. It was out of stock, but even were it in stock I wouldn't have had enough points to buy it. BUT what happens if it comes back in or I see it in another store: given I paid with points could I exchange my cheaper epilator for this one and pay the difference? I ask because this seems like an easy way of getting round the no part-paying with points rule. Can you just pay for anything with points, then effectively convert those points to cash by exchanging? Or would they insist on putting the points back on my card and then saying I had to pay for the the pricier product in full? But then what if I had 'forgotten' both my receipt and card? kitschkitty, could you ask your mum for me?!
Thanks everyone!'In penguins and pearls we'll drink and we'll dance, 'til the end of our days, 'cause it ain't left to chance that we win...'0 -
If you paid with points they would refund the points first then charge you for the second item. Its because if say you wanted to return the second item again they couldnt refund part points part cash/card.0

Thanks Karen, but what if I didn't have my receipt/card with me? Would they know I'd paid with points when they scan the first item back in?'In penguins and pearls we'll drink and we'll dance, 'til the end of our days, 'cause it ain't left to chance that we win...'0

I got some MF mineral makeup in Natural when it was 3 4 2 but I looked like I'd been tangoed. I use a MF liquid in Natural and expected there to be some similarity so OH took all three back and was able to swap them but Natural in Age Renew is not the same as Natural in Second Skin orColour Adapt! In the no 7 range blond is blond whatever foundation you buy!0
