Capital One - 0% for 18 months on balance transfers

(reposted from The Best Balance Transfers Article Discussion Area, if that's OK. Thought it may not get any attention there)
Capital One are now offering 18 months interest-free on balance transfers, with two conditions - a 2% handling fee and you have to spend £100 on the card within the first three months of opening the account.
Obviously they expect you not to stop at £100, but I can't find anything else negative about this deal...unless, of course, anyone here knows differently...

No, it wasnt getting enough attention what with being on every other advert break.
That offer is old, you dont need to spend the money on it anymore it would appear.0 -
I have never seen it on TV - of which I watch a lot - and only received it in the post yesterday.
I'd be grateful to know where you heard the news that "you dont need to spend the money on it anymore...".
Oh, and by the way, thanks for your charming attitude - you are a breath of fresh air.

The next ad will feature me playing golf with the crab
Hope you enjoy Usenet Sir. For your information, looking at the Capital One card's terms and conditions, there is nothing saying you have to spend £100 per month. Of course, you could have done this research yourself if you wanted an answer, but didnt. The £100 per month thing disappeared months ago.0 -
Just before I go, here for your information, is a scan of the leaflet I was sent that clearly says you *do* have to spend £100 a month to qualify for the 18 months at 0%. Maybe they've changed the rules since printing this, but I took it at face value.
Thanks again for all your help.

We've had one of these leaflets delivered this week, it was with a book catalogue, the offer is valid until 30/10/06.
As Ian rightly say you need to spend £100 within the first 3 months, otherwise the 18 months 0% drops to 6 months0
