Tbh, recycling ( second hand ) I find quite exciting. In the 90`s I was involved in importing second hand guitars from the USA. Most of USA manufacture and high priced items. I could sell them with a decent profit for a fair bit less than new. I think most of my custom came from a fairly cheap ad I took out in a specialist guitar mag. The ad guy became a mate an normally I would get a nice rate.

People travelled miles or indeed I sent out polaroids and some even went over seas.

Pound dropped against the dollar and we stopped doing it.

When were the seed of this sown in the last 10 years or before? If you leave school with no qualifications now it’s is very difficult to make your way. But the children of the working parents I know generally work even if it’s only for the minimum wage or just above. So if it’s down to the fact that their parents live on the benefits culture surely that started longer than 10years ago.

It's often been mentioned on the boards - DT mainly - about second and third generation benefit claimants, and yes, that culture would have started a lot longer than in the last ten years.

And now you know exactly why I feel like I do.....I'm basically the same as you in the things I need to feel grounded and although I do have an important role with the children and their disabilities, I just feel a waste of economic space without a paying job.

It's my middle class upbringing :rotfl:

I know how you feel Sue.

I home educate and that gives me a purpose, as well as my important role of being a mum. Not having a purpose in life is pretty sad really, imo.

Well how funny is that? Been talking for yonks about getting a dvd recorder. We don`t even have a dvd player. Just had a friend say that she has one in her bedroom and never gets to do anything with it. Job done, £30!
