Vodafone contract

Looking to get the Vodafone sim only (1 month) £10/pcm contract 100mns + 500txts and have some questions please.

1. As regards the within plan phone minutes, are these calls charged/logged on a per sec or per minute increment ie I make a 10 sec call is that 10secs off the 100mins or 1 min.

2. Are customer services calls free.

3. Can a number be ported from a PAYG service and at what point does the PAC have to be supplied to the mobile operator (vodafone) ie at contract initiation or afterwards.

4. Is the account facility for checking minutes and texts kept up to day ie on Orange I call 150 and get the number of mins / text available till next billing date. The info is resonably up to date ie same day or day before at latest.

  • I was with Orange in 2008 and left to go to Vodafarce.
    Managed to get out of contract 6 months in (as they put their prices up by over 10%)

    Found Vodafarce one of the worst companies to deal with. Went back to Orange and all has been fine (Orange made mistakes, but fixed them - unlike Vodafone)

    If I were you I would talk to Orange as I have a sim only deal for the missus at £10 per month- normally £15, but got discount as we have decent history.

    I also found VF quite poor on network (coverage and reliability)
    baldly going on...

    Vodafone calls are billed by the second.

    You will need to provide your PAC code at the time of placing the order, it cannot be done once the contract is up and running.

    It is easy to keep track of your usage with online billing where you are able to see the date and time of your last call. There is also the free text 44555 service where you will receive a free text with the date and time of your last call and number of texts sent.

    The network is excellent and they are currently updating the 3G service.

    Calls to Customer Service are free from a contract.

    Vodafone also have their own eForum where you are able to get online help and advise.
