Bought a Turkey Crown and it did 6 Adult servings (roasts / salad) and a few cat servings, so all gone!!

    Brilliant choice!!!
  • Family revisited and had turkey leftovers plated up and microwaved on boxing day, made lots of stock for soup and put the rest in the freezer to use in january, will def make jamies turkey and sweet leek pie, had it last year and it was scrummy, i just use frozen puff pastry to make it easier, always buy a slightly bigger turkey to be sure of leftovers
  • I actually fed mine to the cat! Sorry, not very MSE, but it was slightly over cooked!

Dogs got the (uncooked) carcass - turkey was boned before cooking.

Leftovers (turkey and ham) have been eaten in sandwiches and a Jamie Oliver pie with leeks...far too much filling for one pie so have frozen some to make another pie in the new year.

Tiny bit of ham left that will become special fried rice with curry sauce tomorrow.

I didn't cook mine til Saturday night, ready to have the first bit cold with green salad and cheese and potato pie on Sunday when family came round. Last night I did a turkey, bacon and leek pie - no recipe just a block of puff pastry, butter and flour, and the leftover cream from Sunday's puds. Delicious, even if I say so myself! DH even said he'd eat that throughout the year, so I shall make some more sauce up and freeze more of the turkey in sauce ready for pastry tops.
I need to freeze the rest this evening because my sons have realised that any 'chicken' they've eaten the past couple of days was turkey. Daft I know!
