  • Well i finally finished something else today - a box of pantyliners. Not exciting but i seem to stash them and always buy jumbo boxes so they last forever. 1 down only 4 more boxes to go!! Should also finish a shampoo this weekend as only a dreg left in the bottle.

I finished off a Body shop pomegranite body polish this morning, I have 6 more to go, I bought them for less than half price when they discontinued them 2 years ago. (I think I bought 16) in total:eek: really bored of it now.

I have just enough Tommy Guns Dew Drops for one more use, then onto the frizz ease.

I need deodarant and have two bogof vouchers for Dove, I use this so am very happy. I am going to try all the "flavours" on the list as thety sound gorgeous. I use the cucumber and green tea and love it! and it is is on the list :T

Can I join as well please. Someone directed me to this thread and this is just what I need. Buying toiletries is my weakness and I can easily spend a fortune on this. Yesterday I didn't start until 2 pm so I took the opportunity to clean our bathroom cabinett and write a content list of all my toilietries to stop myself from getting tempted to buy more. The list I have put in my purse so when I go shopping I can see what I need to buy or not buy. Having loads of toiletries tucked away that I had forgotten that I had, it should be a while until I need to buy some more. I have also made a promise to myself to use up those nearly empty bottles/tubs first in order to reduce the amount that I have got as quickly as possible.

Good luck with the challenge everyone. I am so glad that I found this challenge, it will help me to stay motivated to reduce what I have in my bathroom.

just found this thread, all the time I thought I was the only one with the problem"serious overbuying of goodies whilst on offer" so good to know I am not alone! no time to read all the thread.
amoungst my weaknesses are perfume, lipstick and mascara(from goodie bags)samples of anything from magazines that I then do not use as don't like to open and waste a sachet whilst away from home(that being the main reason for collecting them!)
skin care I think I will try bought on offer(but then still go and buy my fav stuff anyway)

Is this purely a female thing?any men out there who hoard???

I WILL try and stop buying ,maybe we should band together and call when the urge to buy takes over:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have enough sanitary items to last me till the menopause and then some! I had a massive bag full when I moved (In August) and my sister-in-law gave me more and then I bought two packets because I wanted the lipglosses (they were for presents I hasten to add).

I am going to use them all up before I even think about buying more, even though there are some brands I don't like.:T

Its a sensible thing to bulk buy really. I really liked the playtex tampons which I can't find anymore....I have only one box left....and (this is ridiculous) I use them on the worst day for me (the day I want to curl up in bed and cry) as a ''treat'' instead of finishing my stash. :o I also leave an emergency ''spare'' in every handbag I have. I have PCOS and am really irregular and rarely know before the event when it will be...so I keep prepared :o As we pay VAT etc on such necessities I do make sure I buy when on special offer.

fixx, do you know about the Freebies Board? It's one of my fave MSE boards; I've had loads of toiletry samples from there. You have to check regularly - sometimes there's nothing - and sometimes the offers expire quickly but it's a great way of trying new stuff without spending any money. For example, if you want any more of those Olay Eye Pods, this thread will tell you how to get a couple:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2107277

    HTH. :)

Yep, i do occasionally browse the grabbit and Freebie boards - but i need to stop, too much stuff :rotfl:

I hadn't seen that one for the eye pods though, thanks!

I've made a quick note of what I've used so far - I can't bring myself to type out the list of what i've actually got, so i'll keep track of what I use, and what I buy, and hopefully the used list will be much longer than the bought!

    Finished so far:
    2 x face mask sachets
    Shampoo sachet
    Body lotion sachet
    Dior body lotion sample
    Elemis eye gel large sample
    No 7 P&P 5ml sample
    Prescriptives face serum sample
    Clarins moisturising face mask tube
    1 x toothpaste

Unfortunately anything that’s not a sachet that I’ve used hasn’t been full to start with, so it doesn’t feel like much yet :( But I have been using quite a lot of other stuff, and I’ll finish some things in the next week or two – I can see the progress! (and more importantly, can feel it on my skin :))

I was a bit naughty night before last - I saw the post on the magazine thread about a free Simple kit with a cheap mamazine subscription, so caved and ordered it :embarasse It was only £5 though for eye cream, face cream and night cream, and 5 magazines! But I woudln't have bought the magazine anyway, so it's def going on the spend list.

I finished off some Dove shower cream today! :j Two more bottles to go and a Sanctuary spray oil one - all presents :T.

Nearly finished my tube of Jergens body cream, I love that stuff!! Have several other types to use up first though, but so far that would be my choice to buy.

I've got Jergens anti-ageing and a moisturising one. One of the better body creams.

Finished the toothpaste that we'd left the end of. I'm loving the feeling of geting rid of these depressing almost empty bottles/tubes. I have to admit both DH and I are quite bad for that, but its not going to happen again! It feels so great to be getting rid of them!

I've got some Boots curl cream I hate, but I plan to finish it off on weekday over the next couple of weeks rather than use my ''good'' stuff: the finishing stuff and clearning space is becoming addictive!
