Has anyone found out from a cashback retailler whether signing up for a cashback deal and then immediately switching to the free broadband deal will invalidate the cashback?
I think....

It shouldnt do cos in effect you are still paying orange your line rental and the cashback comes from the company you sign up with originally(e2save,onestopphoneshop....etc)

I've spent most of the morning trying to check this out.

    E2Save terms and conditions state
If the monthly bills sent are not for the same account and in the same name as the one eligible for the chequeback we reserve the right to withhold any chequeback payment.

Orange are absolutely adamant that you have to end the existing contract and start a new 18 month one to qualify for free broadband. So it would be a new account, thereby breaching the cashback tems and conditions.

I am in my first month of an 18 month Orange contract and I would still have to end it and start another to get free broadband, thereby losing my cashback. Grrrr!

CPW companies such as E2Save are hardly likely to make it easy for us to take up offers like Orange's when they are promoting Talk-Talk themselves I suppose.

Anyone found a way round it?

Thanks button not working for me so 'Thanks' RacyRed

Have you spoken to anyone at e2save to confirm this?

I wonder how the cashback companies would know - is there an 'account number' on the bills they could check? Presumably they would still try and get their commision from Orenge whenever that becomes payable - do you think orange would deny them this?

I wonder what would happen if you went for a high end handset with no cashback or a free gift instead of cashback tariff?

To claim cashback you have to send in your bills, so the companies would certainly know it the account was changed.

But I finally got through to person at e2save who told me that this part of the Orange terms applies.

    left on your contract?

Simply restart your contract for the same amount of time. For example, if you're in month five of your 18 month contract, you can stay for another 18 months.

The key word here is RESTART your contract, so it would be the same contract and theoretically it should be possible to claim cashback and get the broadband deal.

The information the Orange employee gave me this morning appears to be for contracts with LESS THAN 3 months to run, in which case a new contract would be needed.

E2save told me that a restart of a contract would not invalidate cashback claims. Wish I could get that in writing.

The fact they say restart rather than extend by a further 18m seems to me a bit of a potential backdoor way of them claiming to retailers that contract was cancelled... hence clawback of their commission and likely effect on them paying any cashback....
I would certainly want it in writing that it was not going to effect cashback ... BTW how long did you wait to speak to someone ... I always give up on the cashback query line ( if they don't cut me off first)

Errr, I was a bit naughty, having realised that the cashback query line doesn't seem ever to get answered by real people (does it  ) I called the sales line and asked them. After all, it would affect all new contracts as it seems you cannot take the broadband option at the time of purchase if you buy your contract through anyone other than Orange themselves.

I've emailed to see if I can get written confirmation that the cashbacks will be honoured if Orange contracts are restarted.
