  • SueB and Shortie you've made some gorgeous creations well done!
Well my order came from Jilly Beads today, can I ask a really simple question how do I make all the beads stay on? Do you loop the end?

Hi craftgirl , yes you have to loop the end using round nosed pliers.

The Bead Merchant also do some lovely kits. These are a little different and involve bead weaving.

They do beginner, intermediate and advanced kits as well as amulet bags. My daughter, who is a complete beginner bought this one

It looks big in the photo but is very delicate and dainty. I think it's well worth the money as they use top quality Japanese beads. She made a bracelet and had enough beads to make several. The only thing you'd have to buy are additional clasps if you made more than one.

There was another jewellery making thread running last year in this part of the forum, there are a lot of ideas, tips and questions answered in there.

This is an attempt at a memory wire bracelet, using up beads I had left over as well as some of my hand made polymer clay beads.

    Its absolutely beautiful.

Memory Wire bracelets have never been so popular!

I`m just working on a beaded link bracelet at the moment, its so much fun. The only thing is I`m sure I`m going to run out of head pins as I`m using so many for this bracelet.

I had to laugh at the running out of head pins comment, I made a set for a secret santa in December, and it took just short of 200 head pins, one for each bead and drastically reduced my stock!

It's scary how quickly you can get through them!

I've got the bug for making jewellery again, but really want to get into selling, just need to find the time.

Its crazy how quick they go!

I need to find a good head pin wholesaler... JB do them 1000 for £14.95.. does anyone else know of any good deals on head pins... I don`t want to order from China as I`m impatient lol!

Me too.... seems like a lot of competition out there tho... must think of some new ideas to stand out from the crowd!

As I`m going to be on maternity leave after my hols would love to earn a few pounds selling bits (even if its just to fund the purchase of more beads!:rotfl:)
