Sparklygirl - Beautiful ~ did it take forever to make?
Nichelette - I do love your vintage stuff very beautiful - its the sort of things I like to wear. Do you sell them or make them for pleasure? You can stand there and agonize........

Thanks Kandi. It's a bit of both really, I started making jewellery as a hobby when I was at uni which I accidently discovered sold quite well so the money helped me through that. I wear some of my own stuff and make it as presents for my friends so it's a mix. I'm lucky that I'm able to do something I enjoy and make myself a little extra money at the same time. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470

Nichelette I love your stuff too, I can't pick out a favourite - there were so many that I liked, mostly the floral stuff - I'm a sucker for anything that looks vintage/nostalgic.
Sparklygirl, that cuff is beautiful. I'd like to do some bead weaving next. It looks complicated in the books, but I suppose it's just practice like most new things. Is there a name for the way you've stitched the crystals together?Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -
thanks Thistledome and kandipandi
i used a double weave stitch, where you basically put one bead on each end of the thread and then on the third bead you cross over threads, its really simple to do and the bracelet works up really quickly. i can put together a proper tutorial together if your interested.

Hi everyone - I've been lurking for a while now, I have to say I think everyone's creations are fantastic and it's lovely to see how everyone is so supportive of each other. I'm fairly new to jewellery making, first inspired by some altered art and steampunk designs I saw on Etsy. I then thought I'd consult with good old MSE and began with a few memory wire designs inspired by this thread, I have then gone on to create a few steampunk items as it was these that first inspired me. Please let me have some feedback it would be much appreciated.
The steampunk necklaces.
Below is the reverse side of the above pendant.
And the reverse
the memory wire bracelets
and two charm bracelets
Sorry about the size of the pics - this is the first time I've posted any - have tried to resize in photobucket but doesn't seem to be working! Help!0 -

Ikkle love the resin stuff - its brilliant, even more personal when you are actually making the bits you use. The photo in the bag charm one is that one you made? And where do you get your resin stuff from (oh dear I can see another obsession coming on)?
Yes hun the photo is one I did, I buy my resin from a local store called craftwise which have a shop online as well and the other suppliers I know of are fred aldous and artclaysupplies.co.uk
All 3 of them are showing out of stock at the minute but if you just email them they might be able to help.
I think hobbycraft sell similar too.
The resin I use is from Trylon and is Shallow Cast EM400PA
I have a couple of pigments but you can start by just adding glitter, eyeshadow, cupcake sprinkles. etc. Its really versatile. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

lindadykes, I love the alice charms, can I ask where you get them? I also love the first pendant, very different.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0

Some lovely things here ladies.
I spent last week making fimo beads, lots of fruit and food and some 'regular' beads, and then spent all yesterday photographing, editing and uploading them to the website, so much so that I was bog-eyed last night.
And now I have to replace all the original crappy pics with the new pics (currently being made website friendly), and I have an order for a pearl charm bracelet and a Swarovski necklace and earring set to make as well.0 -
Lindadykes - Your stuff is fantastic! I'm a big fan of the steam punk stuff, not made anything yet but have some bits I bought.
Do you make the bits yourself or buy them to add in (e.g. the watch parts - are they old watches or bought bits), that's the only reason I have not made any yet, been looking for old bits to add in, but I could just buy em I guess! Do you mind me asking where do you use for your bits?
I can't pick a favourite one they are all brilliant and I want them all.
I love the black beads on your memory wire one too, they look like crackeled ice ~ fab.
p.s. I resize using photobucket, select the photo you want, so it's on the screen, then hover over the top and chose resize, I use large for this forum as it shows the detail on the jewellery and I chose medium for other forum posts ~ let us know how you get on.You can stand there and agonize........
