Sorry one more thing for those of you who use memory wire..
- What's so special about it, and why not just use normal wire? Is it because it's already in roughly the right shape/size for a bracelte?
- Also I've had a look on eBay and the first example I've seen is 40 coils of memory wire - is that one continuous length or would I have to somehow weld the single coils back together (that'd be hillarious to see :rotfl:)
And finally (for now, promise) what's so special about memory cutter beads?April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
I really must get to grips with making something like this. I[ve just had a nose through my bead stash and am ashamed to say I could probably start a shop with the amount I have - I was give a Bag for Life FULL of beads from a kind Freecycler last leay and a friend of mine saves the broken jewellery or bits she knows they won't shift for me from that Charlity shop she runs (in exchange for home made bread pud / Twinks or banana bread whem I've got them on the go)
I'll have another peek at SueB's blog but where did you learn to make them Poppy? I'm the kind of person who if I'm watching someone can pick something up in seconds and it stays up there forever. But I find it nearly impossible to learn out craft stuff out of books - my brains just not 'wired' that way, lol
I learnt to make the bracelet from another forum ages ago but can`t remember which one.
Ive had a look and this vid is a good one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VsPePc5mDY
Hope it helps

The special thing about memory wire is that it holds its shape.
Ive not heard of memory cutter beads???
To cut memory wire ( if you buy a huge coil) you will need memory wire cutters as the wire is tough and will damage normal wire cutters.
You can buy ready cut memory wire bracelets from PJ Beads - beadsales.co.uk they are 15p each +VAT+postage.
or
a good starter bracelet can be purchased from Jilly Beads
http://www.jillybeads.co.uk/acatalog/
go to new arrivals- memory wire kits and you can pick from a range of colours and it comes in a little organza bag for £2.81. The only thing I will say with the kits is it makes a very lightweight bracelet. I like mine to be a bit more chunky and heavier to make more of a statement. Its all down to personal preference tho
You will also need round nosed pliers http://www.bizzybeads.co.uk/round-nose-pliers-842-p.asp these ones are £3 so not much if you are just wanting to start out.
Hope this all helps

Thank you Poppy, that was super helpful xx
Whoops I have no idea why I wrote memory cutter beads.. I must have had beads on the brain :rotfl:.. I mean to say the memory wire cutters, but you answered that too :kisses3:
Will have a look at the video tonight, and the starter sets too - I'm just off to pick up my little ones and then have the chaos that will follow :rotfl:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
Poppy, can I check - the Jilly beads set looks like you only get single loops in the kits, but the PJ beads precut ones look like you're getting 2-3 circles per bracelet?
If I'm right on the PJ beads one, it's worth a go isn't it for that money! I don't have the right cutters but do have the round nosed pliers already (I have normal wire too but suddenly had no idea what to do with it all when it turned upApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Well I've made my first bracelet and I'm thrilled to bits with it, don't think I can post a pic yet.
Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice or direct me somewhere just to find out some basic things, really fancy making a necklace next but not sure where to start!
Thanks in advance x0 -

More on my blog here.
I like PJ Beads and Jilly Beads for supplies. Both are fast and have great customer service.

These are fabulous, I particularly like the green/blue pandora bracelet. Did you get your beads and findings for this at Jilly beads as I would love to make 1 each for 2 very special people. Thank youNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -

Thing is I'm back to work on Monday after having 6 weeks off, and would like to have a chance to try it out before my brain gets fried again at workApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
