Theres no reason you can't move them away from windows and place them where ever you like (on the ceiling if you wish!) but the best place is under windows.
I must admit, in my house i have put them where is best for my furniture / living style!0 -

What is the right end of the stick??
As for my "mistaken view" I think you may find its pretty much standard for anyone who has been trained recently & not in the 1970's.
As for the difference between "moved away" & "installed" & " being under a window sounds stupid, but apparently it is the best place for them " I will leave it to your own limited intelligence to work out who is twisting whose words...
Oh sh*te I can do italics...

Building regs & insulation & window construction & energy conservation do.
However if you do have a massive draft coming in from your windows it might be an idea to place a 2nd rad there or alternatively you could do the right thing & fix it.Not Again0 -

It's most unusual to fit radiators by a door. For one thing, many walls next to a door are short in width, have recesses, or are just unsuitable. On top of which, every time someone opens the door heat escapes.0 -

Physics don't change though. And new builds still have rads under windows.0 -
