Baby Alive swearing???

Options
We bought Baby Alive Little Surprises from Argos at £24.99, from Santa for DD. However, although the doll works fine we are convinced, as is DD, that one of the phrases is "Oh b*u*g*g*e*r*!". It is a tad embarrassing that she is now repeating it as Baby Alive says it. I am going to test it with relations today to see what they think. I am sure this phrase is not really what we think it is, if anyone else has brought one what do they think?

I dont know if I can find the receipt, xmas madness in our house, but I do not think it is acceptable to have DD going round repeating this phrase.
Can someone let me know my rights please. Also, is my issue with Argos or Hasbro, the manufacturers.

The other problem I will have is prising it away from DD, although I think it is a real rip off, as only 2 nappies were supplied and 4 packets of food. Prices for new ones are over inflated. I am going to try prem baby nappies, I am sure they will be cheaper than £6.95 for 6!!!! I should have checked this outbefore purchasing the doll.

  • When does the doll say it? Is it after a particular action?

  • That's the American accent for you. I'm convinced that they are always swearing at me ( they are really).

  • We used to buy premature baby nappies for baby born and yes it is significantly cheaper than the 'proper doll nappies'

We got 2 nappies with ours.... but DD in her wisdom has given her new baby 2 lots of water in the bottle... so we have 4 packets of food now..and no nappies! lol......

  • Buy reuseable dolls nappies. Far cheaper and more environmentally friendly. Sorry no experience of what the doll is saying.

  • After reading this I've been trying to find a list of the phrases it uses and I can't find one, but I did find that it says 'all done now' which maybe could be heard as 'oh b*gger' if you say it in a singsong voice?

As for b*gger being a swearword, I think it depends on your personal view, I know that I'd get told off by my mum for saying it in front of her. But I'm not sure it's something that you'd want your small child to be wandering around repeating in any case!

Have you contacted Hasbro? Not to complain, but they might be able to give you a list of the phrases so you can work out which one it is...

I think it's saying 'OH BABA' in an American accent.
Why a baby doll wants to say oh baba, but that Americans for you.
