Apparently, some councils are charging parking fees on Saturday and not acknowledging it as a bank holiday. 15 out of the 32 London councils are doing so.

According to the article, Neil Herron, who runs the Parking Appeals website, has promised his services free of charge to anyone ticketed on Saturday. Well done Neil

As it is Saturday and Boxing day, will the tickets be charged at 'double-time' ?0

No it's not a bank holiday as such, but as the article says, it's not exactly in the spirit of Xmas is it. Anyhow, hopefully nobody will need to take advantage of this offer.
Happy Holidays all:beer:0 -
If you are in West London, visit Uxbridge (LB of Hillingdon) for the Chimes and Pavilions shopping centres. Hillingdon is not applying parking charges for its carparks - see http://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/index.jsp?articleid=18934.0

It's not in the spirit of anything to park illegally! Why not just get a permit and then you won't get a parking ticket?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Firefox, nobody is talking about deliberately parking illegally. However, many people would have assumed that yesterday was free parking as it was boxing day. As 15 out of 32 London councils decided not to deem yesterday fee free that means that 17 did. Easy to get confused.
All due respect it sounds like your spirit is MIA

Yes. more and more councils are being money grabbing baskets with parking.
But unless peeps take a bit of a stand about it then they will carry on (altho, TBF, there are so many things we all need to take a stand about that we all better rush over to the Amazon shoe sale where Hush Puppies are half price as we won't be sitting down for the next year)0 -

Liverpool Council charged for parking fees on Saturday and said if they didn't the traffic situation would have been unbareable, even though Manchester Council allowed free parking.
How about councils do something about trains and buses for Boxing Day if volume of traffic is an issue?0
