Bear 1969 is correct. Its a common fault and should only cost a few pence to fix. If turning the rubber washer doesn't work. Replace it. I've done this twice. Its a crazy little fault.0

try turning rubber washer (that stops the water when ballcock is up)the other way round as this can be a problem when the toilet makes a noise like a fog horn when its just been flushed this is a quick and cheap cureBear 1969 is correct. You are both assuming that the WC in question has an inlet valve incorporating a ball valve and the rubber washer you are mentioning.
A "new suite fitted last week" will, most likely, have a newer generation valve but I concede that the OP hasn't actually said.

Basin tap is one of the smallest yet significant buddy for your home. An assortment of taps has long been released to the market, such as kitchen area taps, bathroom or restroom taps, and outdoor taps. Depending on your requirements, you may choose from plastic taps or metal taps. Plastic taps are often used for quick changes and replacements.0

I have the same problem when my toilet is flushed, been in years but only just started to make the noise. If I turn the cold water tap on though, the noise disappears.
No valves or anything though.0 -
Has your mains pressure increased recently maybe due to work in your area?0

No, not as far as I know.0

You could make up a mains pressure gauge using part nos 12152, 6654 and standard 15mm equal tee from www.bes.co.uk
Then fit a pressure reducing valve near the appliance part no 18862.
A bit OTT. The gauge only goes to ten bar, so that might need protection in areas of high water pressure.
Much easier to fit an isolation valve, slightly closed. Are pipes adequately clipped0 -
Are you .sure it is mains fed and toilet pipe work is at fault .Its not tank fed is it and the diaphram in the tank ball valve not working properly.0
