Can my noisy toilet and basin tap be fixed?

Options
5 years ago I replaced my bathroom suite and from day 1 when I flushed the toilet the noise for about 40 secs after was horrendous and I've suffered it ever since.Last week I got a new bathroom suite naively hoping that it would be an end to the noise but no still bad but now I have the added problem the the basin had only one hole so I got a mixer tap from b&q but when you turn it towards cold that also makes a terrible noise!! I'm gutted but don't really want to rip out the new sink and toilet and repalce everything, so is there anything a plumber can do that will help these problems?

your water pressure maybe too high. turn the main stop tap down a bit.
condsider fitting a torbeck valve in the wc cistern. i have one and its very quiet.

also consider fitting a pressure regulator valve in the rising main cold feed line.
    Get some gorm.

Does anyone do a PR with two gauges? one showing the mains pressure and one showing the adjustable outlet pressure?

you can get them for industrial use, never seen one for domestic use though.
the industrial ones are likely to be a bit expensive.

If your toilet cold water feed pipe is fitted with an isolating valve just close that a little. No need to reduce the pressure in the whole house which may have other ramifications. If you haven't got one (iso vv) that is get one fitted.

Personally I'd use a Fluidmaster but thats down to choice.

I'm not sure I see or understand the point. Perhaps you could be kind enough to explain?

    Why would you want/need one?

I'm not immediately sure of the point of this in the context of the subject of this thread. Perhaps you could explain? Always willing to learn.

try turning rubber washer (that stops the water when ballcock is up)the other way round as this can be a problem when the toilet makes a noise like a fog horn when its just been flushed this is a quick and cheap cure
