haggling for a cheaper contact! blackberry 9700

Hello, I recently went to phones4u trying to haggle a cheaper contract for the blackberry 9700. The sales assistant knocked £5 off the monthly rate going from 35-30, however I am not keen on spending 30, I asked him whether he could go any lower and he said that he would not be allowed to do so. Is this true or do you think he used it as an excuse. Im wondering whether I should go back in again and try my luck.
Also are there likely to be more monthly contact offers after christmas?
Thank you

Hey dude
What were the details of the contract (length / cost of phone / mins / txt / internet / bb services / any free extras) etc.0 -
it was 600 mins unlimited text and unlimited internet ( but im not sure if it is really unlimited, I have heard that lots of companies class unlimited 500mb of use. I wouldn't need the 600 mins so maybe I could get them to lower it for a cheaper price.
I think the offer is actually quite good for a 9700 but I just don't think I can afford it.
thank you xxx0 -
well look at it this way, its only £1 a day. but just so you know it can often be cheaper to look online before goin gto phones 4 u, and then claling up the big for (o2, orange, tmob, voda) and haggling from there.
I got panther 40 down to £31.25 average for 24 months, free BB 9700, 1200mins, 500txt, unltd internet + bb services (500mb fair usage).. they're selling the same package for £40 in orange stores, so £8.75 off each month for 24 months gives me a nice saving of £210 off the in store price overthe life of the contract.
the price you were quoted seems average to be honest. orange will do the same deal for £30/month before you've even haggled with them. you pay a lil for the phone but a few haggline calls and you'll get it free. i'd personally shop around a bit more if i were you.0
