Itunes 9.0.2 wont install!

Got a new ipod for Christmas, and i need to update my itunes to version 9.0.2 for it to work, but everytime i try to download and install it, it fails.

Even tried to uninstall the version i already have and it won't un-install now cause it says i have an installation already running!

doubt it's little consolation but i'm having exactly the same problem. tried doing it through my current version of itunes and through the website. no joy

try downloading it from here - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/audio_players/itunes.cfm

I suspect lots of people will be trying to get iTunes from the Apple site.

my mum has managed to get it to uninstall, and has downloaded the newer version, but its stuck on "publishing product information"

If you are using Apple Software Update try instead downloading the file from here http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/ and manually installing it. I've had problems with the automatic updates at times. While you are there double check your system meets all of the requirements to run it. If you are using a 32bit OS make sure you don't accidentally download the 64bit version (or vice versa).

The installer has not closed down properly and is still running in the background. Easiest way to sort that is to restart your system.

I restarted my laptop 6 times! and it still said the same thing!

No idea what 32bit and 64bit is?

Used that link, trying to install version 9.0 just now, rather than the newer 9.0.2, as new ipod says it needs version 9.0 or better, and i think i had version 7 lol!

"The installer encountered problems before itunes could be configured"

Would suggest completely uninstalling Quicktime and iTunes and retrying.

I've uninstalled everything to do with apple or itunes, as well as quicktime and it still wont install!
