Hi everyone,
It is with great shame (I am hanging my head as I type) that I admit that I have'nt visited this thread for ages and so have loads and loads and loads (well you get the idea) of posts to catch up on.
Before I start catching up I thought I would let you all know about a free printable calendar I have just found at http://www.papercraftsmag.com/articles/2011_Color_Block_Calendar_Download
I think its really stylish and will be great to go on a couple of decorated chipbaord blanks I already have in my stash.
Hope it helps someone else too.
PS I posted this in the freebie section first but then decided that it might be better posted in here.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Ooops just caught up on 3 months worth of loveliness :jThats what happens when you do the Great North Run and get married the following week
Its nice to be back though
Does anyone know how to recreate the smell of a real log fire through the medium of a scented candle? Any suggestions gratefully received.0 -
Thanks for the calendar.............I'll print that out and see what it looks like. I've managed to find a site with small calendars on free but they're just plain ones.
Laura............can't help you with the candles apart from anything with the ''festive'' name.......4kandles.co.uk had some samples of pine needles, spiced wassail frankincense and myrrh.......stuff like that. Not sure if that had any others .........can't remember now.
Well done on the great north run and congratulations on getting married.:TI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

If you put 'microwaveable salt dough' into google you can get some recipes.
This one which looks easy was on the C4 website:
You will need: jug of water; salt; plain flour; vegetable oil; cup; teaspoon; big spoon for mixing; mixing bowl; cling film; paper plate.- Mix together 1 cup of salt and 2 cups of flour. Add a teaspoon of vegetable oil. Add about half a cup of water and mix well to make a lump of dough. Work the dough with your hands until it is soft and bendy, but not sticky. To stop it drying out, wrap your dough in cling film until you want to use it. If you keep it in the fridge it will stay fresh for about 3 days. When you have made a model with salt dough, stand it on a paper plate. Put the plate with your dough model in the microwave and cook it for about 2 minutes at high power.
- Let your model cool down, then take it out of the microwave. It should be very hard. It is now ready for painting.

Think I'm getting on better............having raided little sweet shop I've done two more ''make your own'' snowmen, and a white jar (empty drinking choc.jar) is full of bon bons, lilar sock for a hat, google eyes and shaped lips.Joke pills are now all done as well.
Bars of chocolate now waiting to be covered as well as diaries.
Got some cheap notepads from stationers and think I'll do a couple of kitchen organizers..........I've got some placemats past their sell by date so I'll cover them, add cover to notebook so it matches and calendar and post it notes.........oh and peg.
Aim to get these all done this week.............hopefully...........:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
