Moving to Denmark but want to keep UK mobile number

Hi all,
I'm moving to Denmark in Jan but, I'd like to keep my UK mobile number in case I ever move back and/or for friends who may not know I'm moving.
My contract's up at start of Jan too so I was gonna port my number on to a payg sim like Asda Mobile.
1) Is porting my number on to a PAYG sim the best thing to do?
2) Which network would be best/cheapest for this purpose?

get any payg sim. port your u.k number to it. then as your answerphone message say " hi i'm living in denmark now, my danish mobile number is.............. please call me on that number & don't leave a message on this number as i no longer check it.

just make a chargable/sms call on it every few months to keep the service.

Virgin mobile payg and set up a DD for payments, you only get billed for usage, and you dont have to worry about it getting cut off

Port your UK number to a cheap pay as go. Asda mobile (cheapest) or familymobile.co.uk. Both allow roaming so you can receive calls which you will charged for.
