If you don't like the question then take your replies elsewhere you sanctimonious git.

I am asking a question to people who have applied for this account because it is unusual & as i said before i have never been asked by any financial institution to get photocopies signed by other professionals.

I have not at any point said that i don't like the rules, i have simply asked if anyone else has applied for this account & did they just send in documents without getting them signed?

Now if you have not applied for this account & don't know the answer to that simple question pehaps you could politely butt out & keep your un called for comments to yourself?
I quite liked the question - and your reply. It made me chuckle.
    Merry Christmas!

By the way it is not unusual to be asked to submit original documents for identification.

[Halifax] told me i did need to provide ID in writing, when they didn't even need it, so are N&P the same?

I would imagine that you're the victim of a form letter with Halifax - i.e. it was sent automatically and erroneously.
That's the point i am getting at here, i have never been asked to do this before by any financial institution which is why i find it a bit unusual & i just want to establish whether anyone else has applied for the current gold account at N&P, and if they just sent the ducuments as they were.

Different banks have different ways of carrying out their duties, N&P are probably doing it this way because you applied online (as far as I can figure) and don't expect you to be able to present the original documents to them in person. It's also fairly common for institutions which don't have a branch network that geographically matches their customer base.

LOL! Made my day! Well done, benoit! About time these goody-two-shoes posters get taken down a peg or two. There are far too many of them. They simply support the big guys against the little guy and all they offer you is take it or leave it solution. I think they are doormats posing as forum members!

I opened a NPBS Gold Account a couple of years ago and I must admit I had to send them quite a few original documents - I have never had to do that with any other online bank and I have had a few similar accounts. They are good, though - there is always someone at the end of the phone to talk to and they will consider your personal circumstances.
