T mobile upgrade if phone is faulty

Called t mobile today and asked if they would upgrade me early as my phone has died. at first they said no chance, but then called again to ask and they adv that if it beyond econimical repair that they would upgrade me early and only add 12 months onto the contract. Can anyone else confirm this is correct and so what is the catch. I only have 3 months left on contract so would then only have a 15 month contract in theory. Has anyone else done this before and if so are the upgrade offers any good?

thanks

They quite often dish out upgrades a few months early anyway - Mrs Harper had a call about 'early upgrade' last week.

  • Did this for my current contract. Had a vario II, it broke 6 months into my contract and it was extended by another 12 months making it 18 and they sent me a new bb curve. No catch as I'm aware of
  • For 3 months that should be fine, if it was longer than 6 months i would enquire more however in my last 3 months my operator kept ringing offering upgrades.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
  • I thought that you had to have sent your phone in for repair, so its on record as BER before they even consider it?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    you will be lucky
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

  • 1st you would have to get the phone sent away to see if it can be repaired under the manufacturers warrenty via t-mobile retail. If the phone is classed as BER then your number will be added to a spreadsheet allowing you to upgrade by extending your current contract by 12mths. But you cant just break your phone expect to get an early upgrade this way just incase anyone was wondering.
