Fitted sheet for mattress slightly bigger than normal

Our double mattress is very slightly bigger than normal. Most double fitted sheets seem to be 135cm x 190cm then the side piece varies from about 20-30cm. Our mattress is 141cm x 194cm x 23cm depth so a normal double fitted sheet with the above measurements would be stretching the sheet a bit too far.
Anyone know the answer? Do I buy a king size fitted sheet which seem to be either 150 x 200 or 153 x 200 with a 30cm side piece. If so will it move and wrinkle? Do I buy the sheet suspenders to hold them in place (which only seem to be available on US sites).
I want to buy good quality sheets (thinking of 350 thread count) so not budget ones, and I don't want to be wasting money.
This is doin' my 'ead in :rotfl: .

Are you sure it's a double mattress and not a queen size? Or is it a continental size (e.g. IKEA)?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Definitely a double FireFox, not an Ikea or anything. It's a hand made mattress so I suppose they all vary a little bit. We have another double one by this company and that comes fractionally narrower and about 3cm shorter. One is pocket sprung/memory foam, the other pocket sprung/latex so deep mattresses too.
I want to treat us to some really good quality sheets so don't want to be spending good money on something that turns out not to be right. I saw some Viyella ones on QVC which I could try and send back if not right (can't think of anywhere else I can do that) but they don't do a matching top sheet which I also want and can't find them anywhere else.0 -
northern nights make sheets with plenty extra, try them0

I've just been looking at the N/Nights sheets Tucbiscuit but they mostly seem to be sets with duvet cover, fitted sheet and 4 pillowcases or fitted sheet with 2 pillowcases. The only flat sheet at the moment is lavender and I need cream or ivory. The only set with fitted/flat and p/cases only gets 2.5 stars out of 5. Back to the drawing board I think.0

Why not consider flat sheets?
Because the mattress is very very heavy. We have flat sheets at the moment and I don't have the strength to lift the mattress up enough to tuck the sheet in or push it under very far, especially at the headboard end. OH can't help as he is ill. Fitted sheets seem to be the only answer.0 -

Thanks Dolly, I'll have a look at that.0 -
I bought extra deep fitted sheets off of E Bay. Newer mattresses appear to be deeper than ones a few years ago so it is an increasing problem0

I don't see why being handmade is an excuse for being 6cm wider and 4cm longer than standard: that's a pretty large margin of error!Have you asked the mattress supplier what they brand of sheets they recommend? Have you looked at the sizing of queen or continental fitted sheets to see if they are a better fit than standard doubles?
I can't say I blame you for buying a decent mattress, I have a £900 pocket sprung/ memory foam (ex-display) and it is just amazing to sleep on. When the ex-Mr. Fire Fox cheated and left I was praying he'd not want the hassle of moving the solid oak bedframe and mattress he paid for ...
Just to add, I tuck my sheets by heaving one corner of the mattress with both hands (using power/ momentum) and then catching it on my knee, placing my bare foot on the bed base. I then have both hands free to tuck and the weight of the mattress is supported. Would that work for you?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
