Problems with the N97 mini

Hi, I am new to this but I thought I would let you guys know about the problems with the N97 mini. I understand that the N97 has had a lot of problems but I think Nokia haven't fixed them all when then made the replacement the N97 mini.
I have had two N97 mini's in a matter of only three weeks and they both had the same problem. This is that when I turned the phone off it would not turn back on again and would show a white background with a blue Nokia logo. Don't get me wrong I do think that other than this, the phone is really good and could even rival the iphone. However in my job I have to turn my phone off and therefore this phone is useless to me.
I have now pre-ordered the iphone as vodafone don't sell the HTC hero. A friend of mine has the hero and it appears to be a very good phone.
I hope this helps some of you as I wouldn't want you to go through what I have had to.

  • Mine is fine but it sometimes drops signal for no reason. Not had any problems with turning on and off.
  • my n97 mini is fine...... yeh it drops signals.. but my 5800 used do that too.. i think loads of phones these days do this..

i find phones that are locked and provided by networks run very old firmware.. and hence they are never working as they should.. unbranded ones have the best chance of getting the latest updates....

btw guys nokia released free nokia mpas with sat nav to all n97 mini user... availiable to download on their website... or u might be able to do it via software update on applications (SW update)... just to say its amazing and works well in the car... just need to get a holder for the car so its a lil less dangerous.

If you take out the memory card, it should turn on ok. I've experienced this with my sisters Nokia 5800.

Where did you get that deal from? Can't be O2 directly?
