You could try using it in place of the milk in things like pancakes, scones etc. The extra acidity should give them a bit of a boost in terms of rising. I wonder whether it'd freeze in portions, as it doesn't have a lot of fat in it? Might be worth trying ...
  • I put mine in the bread when I'm making it as part replacement for water. It makes it nice and soft and is full of vitamin b12

'Use it as part of the liquid in breadmaking.'

I would but I have not got any bread flour left and it will be Wednesday before I get any........will it keep?

Hi Tootles.....you can make bread with plain flour if you use water which is left over from cooking potatoes instead of ordinary tap water. Just make as usual. Great if you have no strong flour to hand!

I've shoved a load in the freezer when I didn't need it immediately.

    Hi louserendipity,

There's an earlier thread that might help so I've added your post to it to keep all the suggestions together.

    Hello,
I make my own yogurt, then with any extra I strain it to make yogurt cheese (similar to Philadelphia). I can't think what I can use the resulting whey for? It doesn't actually get wasted as I give it to my dogs but they don't need it and just wondered if anyone could think of anything more useful to do with it?

  • I use whey from yogurt instead of water when I make bread or pancakes ;)

I'll add this to the existing thread so that you can browse other suggestions :D
