Explain to them about your ideas for self employment and ask if there is any help to set up your business. Ask them exactly what the employment zones are and if they can also help you to set up your business.0 -
Well the place i am going back to doesn't help. I asked last time i was sent there and they said that this is something i have to do myself outside of having a job. This page explains more but doesnt give the names of the companies.

I just have a feeling that if i ask them tomorrow they will just tell me to ask this company anyway and if that is the case i would rather just go to one of the other companies. although i doubt they would change that for me.0 -
Would this be of any help to me?

It is not New Deal i am on since i was on that briefly 4 years ago. They can't send you back to it twice.
I think you'll find they can; I've had clients who've been on New Deal 3 or 4 times!0 -
So what should i do?0

Depends what district your jobcentre is in and which version they are running. All offices have help with self employment but as they all vary and you need to be on some scheme or other to qualify for the test trade period. They are good schemes provided the provider who runs then is good at there job our offices has had some very successful outcomes. Speak to them.0 -
What do you mean by which version? Also if they tell me they cant do anything and just go to this thing next week is there no way i could find out if other Job Centres could help?0

New deal was a national programme that every office ran, on top of that there district pilots ie employment zones.
New deal has not been working for a few years now and certainly doesn't fit the economy. Flexible new deal is a new version of new deal. It currently pilots in various districts throughout the coutry then they see if it is successful. My district is one trying the new scheme.
You can sign at any office you wish but as I said depends what yours and neighbouring districts are running, they may be the same, sorry I am probably not helping at all.

Keep your chin up, go back to your office and speak to someone, we are there to help, they will understand. Explain to them you didn't take in all about the employment zone and you want to know about self employment they will help. I hope next year is your year :xmassmile0
