i considered cleaning as a way of earning some extra cash. i used to do some years ago, and i remember everyone always wanted either a friday (readt for the w/end), or a monday ( to clean up after the onslaught!) so an idea i had was to have a higher rate for those two days. i was looking at doing it on any day of the week rhough, but it is a thought. if people are out working, most folk wouldnt mind paying a bit extra to be cleaned on the day of their choice, and if you break it down, eg, £6 per hour is £18 for 3 hours work, but £7 per hour is £21. instead of saying £18 or £21, just say the hourly rate, £6, or £7, it sounds less to the prospective customer. sort of like buying medical cover for the cost of a daily paper, but if you add it all up it costs a small fortune over the month!
good luck!

It is about £10 an hour here (just outside london) but remember that you dont get paid traveling time so you should heavily target small areas so that you arent spending hours traveling between customers.
Also decide what sort of services you will and wont offer... will you do laundry? Will you use a vac on the stairs? Will you clean the inside of windows?
Easiest way of getting a price is to phone a few local cleaners saying you are looking for a cleaner yourself. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

When I was at University I used to clean houses people had just moved out of, ready for the next tenant. It was quite easy, as most people clean really well before they move and I didn't have to worry about breaking anyone's things! Ask at your local letting agents/estate agents.0

I pay my sister £50 and she blitzes our place one day a month - does all day.The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0
