Desperate advice on choosing a TV please

Given the choice between Hitachi, Ferguson, Samsung and Matsui, I would go with Samsung every time. They make excellent TVs.0

I wouldnt touch a ferguson or an hitachi, so has to be samsung 'from that list'
Other makes id seriously consider are Sony and Panasonic. For the money your spending on a 26" you could get a very good 32" if you shopped elsewhere:idea:0 -
My sharp 26" was better than my Samsung 40".
My Samsung doesn't have an on/off switch, screen is plastic where Sharp was glass, Samsung is ok but feels / looks much cheaper than my ole Sharp.0 -
26" flatscreen is not big for a bedroom TV - I used to have a 28" CRT TV
The Samsung gets a 5/5 review from What Hifi

And is £290 at Dixons

I have found good deals on TVs after Christmas - splitting the saving between the buyer and the receiver. Just make sure you don't get caught by the VAT rise.0 -
I wouldnt go smaller than 26" for playing ps3 on personally. go for a samsung good bang for buck
might be worth going for 32" as they are the most populaar screen size so not much more than the 26"0 -

Thank you that's really kind of you to take so much trouble. The Dixons price for the Samsung is far cheaper than Comets even with the 15% discount!
The Samsung has really good reviews..... I think she might be better off waiting to see what TV's are in the sale in M&S and John Lewis so she can get the 5 yrs warrantee
Thanks again

That's better..........

Hi, we have just bought a new 32" 1080p tv so that we can use our playstation 3 on a better quality screen, you really can tell the difference if it's not full HD believe me! Anyway for ours (Samsung) it was £250 from Richer Sounds clearence section, I really would have a look there, they're well known for their decent customer service and I'm pretty pleased with my new telly!
i like this one.. im sure it'll go down by boxing day either way?

Wont let me post the full link because I've not been here long enough- sorry!0 -
I'd also go with the Samsung out of those. But I will add, that despite my fears, the Matsui/Evotel 32" TVs have been surprisingly reliable. I don't recall myself having seen one come back.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0
