It started on the 26th of Jan last year, but the boxing day offer was different then. This time there is a chance that the items that would normally go in the grab bags may be used up in this current offer.0 -

I got to Lush at 6.30am boxing day,i waited 3.5 hours, was first in doors, i got 2 lush legend boxes for my 2 DDs, which was the idea anyway! Then i got myself 1 Christmas eve box and 1 Winter wonderland box. With the 80 i spent i bought birthday gifts for the year for my female friends and family, sorted! I met some lovely people in the queue. It annoyed me that one lady walked past me in the shop and glared at me holding my boxes saying " It makes me pigsick that some people get here at 6.30" I thought to myself where were you to then missy? and put it down to jealousy. There was 1 think pink and i knew the lady number 9 in the queue wanted , so i did not pick it up even though i could of and im happy to say she got her think pink :-) There was loads of winter wonderland boxes and christmas eve boxes,, the staff were lovely as always :-) My house smells divine, i smell divine and so do my 2 DDs.. we love lush,,and yes i do buy it all year round as well :-)
Am gonna make myself really unpopular here, sorry but I just feel 'off' about this, I'm not trying to have a go here, I'm attemting to explain to you why I feel off:
I know you queued for hours, I know you were buying for your daughters but seriously: do you really think that of the whole queue behind you, only one person wanted the pink gift box? you really think no one else wanted any of the legends or other hat boxes? I am commenting as it feels like your trying to aknowlegde that yes you went a bit OTT with buying so much, (and yes I am aware you were stocking up) but its like your then saying ...but its OK as I did leave one box for a lady behind me...- what about everyone else!
I can see that you really wanted the boxes. I can see that you did your leg work and got up early and I can see that in reality, you do not owe anything to anyone in the queue behind you. I don't know what the situation was like in the shop stock wise but I doubt they'd have more then a handful of the hat boxes you bought. It would have been nice to have left more for other people rather then 'knocking yourself out' and buying so much.
Just because you were shopping for other people doesn't mean others were not also trying to do the same. Sharing a few out would have been morally nicer, again, I know you were under no obligation and Lush doesn't impose any rules, I guess they trust us to act with others in mind, or maybe they don't care (though thats not the sort of message the company gives off).
I guess it really is a god-eat-dog world out there... if we all acted in a way that was 'me, myself, my family and I' we'd all be quite miserable...0 -
Just a word of warning for people who do stock up now for gifts to be used later in the year - remember that bath bombs especially lose their freshness quite quickly.
Yes, they still semll lovely but they are best used as fresh as possible - the same with the soaps.
Personally, I haven't bought Lush soaps/shampoos etc for a long time now because they still use harsh SLS in their products which defeats the object of using natural and/or moisturising ingredients.
But just be aware that gift sets bought now won't be as nice in a couple of months so it might be false economy going mad with buying in the sale just because you can.Living with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -
I got a Merry Christmas gift box worth £29.99 free yesterday when buying a 500ml bottle of Veganese conditioner, 100ml Rehab shampoo and 160g-ish Demon In The Dark soap for £20-08- bargain!Owing to financial constraints, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice.

I have to agree with that.Unless you're going to use the ballistics, melts and bars up within a few months then it's really not worth it as they won't be as good.Need to store them well too (same goes with some of the soaps aswell)
Definately don't go getting any gifts to give to people next christmas or later in the year!
Or you could all be mad like me and my son and use it all up in no time lolIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

My fiance uses Demon in the Dark as his car air freshener!!! I bought him some Lush bits for valentines (along with other stuff) a couple years ago to give him some manly pampering for a special night(what can I say,the smell of him in Lush drives me crazy
) and he took it all home with him and when he opened his car boot he loved the smell Demon in the Dark left in there so much he decided to keep that in there and has had some there ever since:rotfl:

Hey, i was hoping someone could answer a question that has been bugging me a while :x
I am opting to buying online, howoever i am not sure how to work the spend £30 get £10 free, do i just add £30 worth of stuff and they send me the £10 themselves, or do I have to choose what I'm after?
Thanks, i just can't seem to work it out
Edit! Worked it outThey add it themselves, so excited but will probably have to wait till ... proper morning to order it.I am ordering mostly "teenage" products myself; Cupcake, Grease Lightning, Narcotic, Dark Angels and The Big Tease. Have only used the first two previously, and cupcake was just a tester but both have been fab at helping my face clear up and my friend has reccomended the rest!

Hello purplebutterfly,
Please explain 'harsh SLS' and what products do you buy instead.
Thanks0 -
Have been reading all the posts and a huge *well done* to all the peeps who got some wonderful bargains and hatboxes!
I asked for Lush vouchers this year with the specific purpose of going to the sale and spending them to get my essentials ie shampoo, conditioner and Helping Hands which I love, and hopefully grab some freebies but come Boxing Day I didn't know what time the store opened and TBH couldn't be bothered to trek all the way into town.
Next year I will do my research properly and get there really early to grab some freebies - Stompydebs I am well impressed with your haul! Not sure I could get up at 6.30 tho LOL I may pop into town just before New Year and see what they have - not sure about grab bags? I love all the bath bombs and bubble bars, but don't use any of the soaps (usually give them away) - can you have a nose in the bags or is it just pot luck? Failing that I hope they have a large I Love Juicy or American Cream as a freebie
Am I imagining it or do they do a similar offer in July? I mean, spend a certain amount and then get to pick a freebie? I'm sure when I first started shopping at Lush a few years ago this is how I tried various shampoos and conditioners. I don't mean hatbox/gift box freebies, but just certain items made before a certain date.
Happy shopping ladies!0
