I dont really have anyone that can do that for me, which is the problem.

i'll do it - open the letters and tell you the outcome! :)

no go ahead with it! Once you put the claim in things will move - just go with it!

Its easy saying that, but I dont want to then get to the end of the line & realise nothing can be done because I am not in the country.

To be honest, I would happily leave it with someone from this board as I trust you know what you are talking about!!

I used MCOL last year trying to recoup some money from an ebay scammer, and never did see a penny, so am a bit wary of the same thing happening and losing another £80 + .........

Spoke to a helpful lady who said that I could assign a service address & someone to handle the claim for me on my behalf, at any point during the claim.

I just have to hope that Lloyds dont take it to court...??

Still doesnt help that I have noone to handle this for me.

What do you think? Go ahead with it? xx

'cos you should go for it.......why do you think you would be the first one to go to court - having said that I thought I would be going to court but there again I'm a half full girl when it comes to things like money!

If you want I'll have the documents and scan them for you, but there again I don't think you'll be short of volunteers to help you out, especially after all the help and support you've given us over the months.

    Hi ms_london,

I am in process of sorting out Lloyds at the moment. It really has taken ages. I did two claims and First Direct paid out after first letter, no such luck with lloyds. We did the claim in May and we still do not have a court date yet. They have filed a defence, but we are waiting. It looks like they are going to go to the end, so we are going to be prepared to go to court.

With regard to the interest, you add it to the final amount to be claimed on the first MCOL form, Glitterati is right. Is this what you mean?

If I were you, unless I knew someone who had actually been through this (and could take it up on my behalf), I would not do it. It will leave a tiny bit of anxiety on your head, when you should be having fun, and it's just not worth it. Is it for a lot of money? Have you checked out the forum on the bankcharges website, to see how others have got on with Lloyds. Hope this helps you to clear your head.

BTW you could always do it when you get back?

    Thanks sanfransisco.

Its for around £800, so not as much as others are claiming but if I could get it back it would make a nice amount for my travel fund, but you're right, its another stress I could do without, especially if I am going to be away. Perhaps I'll leave it.

    What do other people think?

I cant believe you are still waiting after making a claim last month. Please please please let me know if they do give in!!

I cant decide what to do now, but I appreciate your advise.

    xx

MS_London - it dont know how much it costs but could you set up a power of attorney with someone you trust to handle things on your behalf? That way you could go and someone else can handle things in your absence.

Think I'll have to accept I wont see the bank charges back !!
