Hi there.
I am about to file a claim with Money Claim Online today, but before I do I just wanted to ask something..
I leave the country (as you all know) on the 3rd Aug and I am worried that if they dont give in & pay me the £££ they owe me and want to take me to court, that I wont be around to go (therefore losing £££ I've had to pay out to pursue claim, as well as not getting any of the initial charges back)..
What do you think? Has anyone being taken to court yet with Lloyds?
I cant postpone my trip and knowing my luck, they will take me to court.
Also, what would i put down for the daily interest calculated?
Tried posting on the other forum but havent had a response (plus they're scary over there!!).
xx

Not sure about the being out of the country bit - but advice I've been given so far is to miss out the interest bit (my head reels just thinking about it  )Debts @ lightbulb moment (13/06/2006) - £59,842.23  All commercial debts now clear!!! :T Debts April - £20,000 to family (incl extra £10k borrowed for house deposit). DFD - Aug 2014
Proud to be dealing with my debts
Goal of the month - £500 on groceries for family of 5 - Apr 2011 - £620!

Have you worked out the 8% county court interest on the interest calculator at CAG? If not you need to - if you have a lot of charges spreading over a long time then I think it's extra important because it could be quite a bit of extra cash.
And it is sooooo unlikely it will end up in court. But afterwards, once Llyods give in and agree to give you the money, they will prob want to correspond with you - how will you get the letters?Proud DFW Nerd #62

I have worked out the interest, however, there is a part on the claim where you have to work out how much interest is added per day from the date of the claim, to the date of judgement (?).
I was going to get my mail forwarded. I know, its bad timing, but I am not postponing my trip..!! I dont move out til 24th July, but its just cutting it a wee bit fine....

Hi, I just worked out the interest on the charges using the calculator on CAG but left out the bit that you mean. I couldn't figure that out either.
Good luck0 -

Hi Glitterari,
I thought you only had to do the 8% bit if it goes to court? I'm just waiting on the list of statements - so will need to send off my letter soon and would be interested to know for sure wrt interest.Debts @ lightbulb moment (13/06/2006) - £59,842.23  All commercial debts now clear!!! :T Debts April - £20,000 to family (incl extra £10k borrowed for house deposit). The 8% interest is applicable as soon as you put the claim in to the court, not before. So as soon as you're filling in the forms to issue the court claim, you can claim the 8%. There is a specific paragraph of text that you must include also (it's on the forms/online tho)Proud DFW Nerd #62

To be honest I think they will drag this out so that you have left before it possible settles.
(Think about about 14 days to acknowledge the claim, then 14 days to enter a defence even before they see sense and start negotiating with you!)
Also as you have only a set time to answer their questions perhaps having your mail forwarded would also cause you problems.
Perhaps a solution might be to trust someone with opening this set of mail, scanning it for you and then emailing it to you as an attachment?2014 Target;

Can you officially authorise someone [as with Power of Attorney] to handle this for you in your absence? If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0

What questions will they be asking? Do you mean LLoyds or Money Claim On Line?
I dont really have anyone that can do that for me, which is the problem.
So probably the best thing is for me to not go ahead with it?
Glitterari - Sorry, I meant I was getting my mail forwarded to my parents house, not to Oz, which I suppose doesnt really help much either does it.!

Martin - do you have any answers for this one? Please helppppppppp!!
