This is driving me mad!!! what should i try next please?

My sisters laptop had fastbrowser search on it and it managed to get 108 infected items, i downloaded malware anti bytes and deleted these files.

i also downloaded ccleaner i attempted to download hijack this to no avail. it was trying to install for an hour, but did not complete.

the laptop is running vey slow..

internet keeps saying "not responding"

where do we go from here?

  • Can you download it onto a memory stick (from a different computer) and install from that?

    Download HostsXpert

    and then follow the below steps.

    * Unzip HostsXpert.zip
    * It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
    * Run HostsXpert.exe by double clicking on it.
    * click the Make Writeable? button.
    * click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
    * Click the X to exit the program

    If you still cant download hijack then ~

    Reboot and keep pressing F8 to get in to SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING

    Also ~ Please open malwarebytes and goto LOGS and post the WHOLE of the log

    Sure, why not? If you use a re-writeable, you won't be "wasting" a disc. Of course, since you don't have any it's sort of academic really.
