I can't see them getting much lower, but I am open to advice and suggestions.
On what basis do you regard RBS shares as "cheap" ?
As opposed to say HSBC or Standard Chartered.0 -
I would say an absolute BUY and I hold a load at an average of 35p. Short term there will be some volatilty but if your willing to hold for 2-3yrs+ you will double your money at least, simply as the govt have a huge stake in the bank and will want the bank to be a success so they can profit and obtain some much needed funds. Also RBS still has strong brands in insurance (direct line, churchill etc) and in investment banking.0

I used to like RBS. But why would you want to invest in a failed bank which is largely owned by a failed government? Surely you would want to invest in a business which has some better expectation of being successful. Cheap does not equal good value.0

That's what looks to be the case with Northern Rock. The shares become worthless and it's then down to whether you get compensation or not.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
May be not so cheap, but I did read that the commercial arm of RBS is very profitable.
Rest of bank dragged down with toxic debt.
I had some, and sold at 59p, will wait a while now before buying again.0 -
As tempting as it they are i personally am not convinced by them. I personally prefer LLoyds for a long term buy.0
