I emailed the company stating that I had given the pillows as gifts under the impression that they were authentic, and that I would be contacting Trading Standards on 4th January. I have just received an email stating they will be refunding my money.

Mine arrived too, and had a tear in the packaging too! but I am still really pleased with them, thanks again OP.

poet123 you've changed your tune anyways i asked for a return code when i knew they weren't the right brand/size/quality etc... findmeagift said the following - Please send your return in similar packaging that we used and please return your item(s) using ROYAL MAIL 1st CLASS SIGNED FOR POST (which has an orange Royal Mail sticker), NOT SPECIAL DELIVERY and get a proof of posting card, as lost items cannot be refunded. If your order arrived with any damage to the box or contents, please advise us immediately by email and specify what damage has occurred and where. Your refund will be issued within 28 days. i got to the post office and they said the box (original packaging, not opened) was too large and had to go by EXPRESS 48 and got an email today from findmeagift saying - next week we will be able to process your return and provide a refund. (cos of staff shortages over the hols) so all is going well hopefully

oh I'm sure my packaging was green, but chucked it now. I also wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't seen this thread. OH said it seems ok anyway, so prob won't bother sending mine back.

I dont think Il send mine back - the return postage wont be cheap and as I dont drive a right hassle to get to a post office.

If I knew they would send out a free returns postage Id send it back but dont think Its worth the stress of doing so.

Ones for me ones for a gift but not opened them yet in case they were going back as they do seem very thin on closer inspection.

Not that it is necessary for me to explain myself :rolleyes:but....

At that point I assumed they were the real Mcoy, i would probably have been no wiser until I read this thread, but as they were given as gifts I realised that I had given fakes which is not a good scenario. Anyway because I had already given them away they are refunding without the items being returned.

i wouldn't exactly describe them as "fakes" it is not like it is a designer pillow!!! Can anyone who has had both or has access to both actually clarify that the other one is really that much better??? (a) yes it is a little thin but you didn't really buy it for pillow quality (b) yes it has a speaker in it and a lead coming out of it but i assume the "genuine" one will too???

My OH was really happy and surprised when he opened his and he uses it some nights but just uses normal headphones when he needs a really good night sleep so he does not get stressed moving it about etc - i assume it would be the same with the genuine ones?! I don't really see the point of going mental at the company as all you will get is a refund and no pillow.

I was not aware of the whole genuine/fake debacle but for those who really truly realised what a bargain this was - the old adage springs to mind, if it is too good to be true............

The point is that they mislead the public by their advertising, had it been advertised correctly many of us would not have bought them. There is apparently quite a big difference in quality between the real item, and the one we received purporting to be the real item. It may have been a genuine mistake on the part of the company, or it may have been a deliberate ploy. Who knows?
