  • Crikey, even in 2006 2GB was considered low usage! About time Sky upped the 2GB limit!

Sky have actually over the last few months reduced the usage limits on their other packages and also added a £5 extra charge for people who do not have, or take up their Sky Talk.

The 2GB limit for free, is the same, however they have reduced the Mid package from 40GB down to 10GB (which is the one I'm on:mad:).

Also they have only recently gone live with the Usage tool (only last few weeks with mine) which means they are now sending out 'over usage' emails to people and if you go over 2 months in a row they upgrade your package automatically to the next one up.

So unless you were monitoring your usage before, you may still be using the same, but Sky never sent out over usage emails like they now have started doing. They never sent me one and I used to go abit over. Since the Usage tool went live I recieved my first one too.

Looks like I will be getting upgraded to next package and I only use about 12-14GB a month:rolleyes:

This is why i love virgin. No limit, they just throttle your network for a couple of hours if you download large amounts in a few hours. Still usable for web browsing even in throttling though. I think its the best compromise between cost and speed of downloads like films.

even better is someone like bethere/o2 who dont even throttle :p

Throttle. I'll give 'em throttle!

  • Well as Sky were going to upgrade me anyway to the 'Unlimited' package as I would have gone over the limit this month again, which would have been £5 more each month, I spotted they are currently offering 6months free on the Unlimited upgrade.(T&C's apply)

So I just upgraded my package from the Mid(Everyday) to the Unlimited and it won't cost me any more for the next 12 months to what I'm currently paying.:D

I also went via Quidco, not sure if it will track the £20 with the 6months free offer but worth a try anyway for more money off, if it does.
