Gone over your monthly usage allowance!

Just had a message from Sky saying that 'you've gone over your monthly usage allowance'! This suddenly seems to have jumped up from last month. Nothing obvious springs to mind - we're still doing same things on line. Is it possible to monitor all usage via the Sky router to see if there is some application/site causing this jump in usage? We have 3 wireless and one wired connection. Thanks.

How secure is your wireless network? It's possible that someone might be using your connection.0

NB I've heard of NetMeter, would this monitor the whole 'network' or just a single machine?I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

Netmeter, last time I looked, only monitors one machine, so you'd have to use one copy of the prog for each pc and ad up the results

sky have started doing a online monitor at www.sky.com - in the my sky section i am not sure how detailed it is as i am on the unlimited one but it might be worth a look at leastDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -

Your router's configuration setting page might also have an option for viewable Logs.0 -

....also be aware it counts 'local' non internet transfers too so if you move any big files around within your home network (eg share files between PCs or have a 'network' hard disk you access it'll count that to and it'll need to be estimated and subtracted.....0 -
Sky have just started monitoring usage. They've sent a few emails about it. I've just moved to O2 as 2gb is nowhere near enough for me!OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090

A good point. We like many others moved to Sky to get the 'free' internet having already got the TV package! I guess that many others will be hit by this as sites are increasing data usage all the time. The Sky usage tool is very poor and I just want to see where our big increase has occurred!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -
