Your assuming the pictures are slowing it down, unless youve filled up the hardrive that is definitely not the case (Unless you have more than one program which is recording where they all are)
I have thousands of pics with no slowdown
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

If you have copied into the dvd then delete the copied pictures in the hard drive.
I think having pictures is indeed the problem.0 -
AVG & Mozilla.
Can I also suggest you d/load, install and update; Avast (much better than AVG, but you'll have to uninstall AVG 1st); Ccleaner and Zonealarm.
Uninstall AVG when not online and disable Windows' firewall then install the above. Run the 1st 2 and delete what comes up (you'll have to re-enter all password for sites.
Avast free http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
Ccleaner free http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Zonealarm basic free http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/anti-virus-spyware-free-download.htm
You can uninstall AVG with Ccleaner under 'tools' but disable it 1st. You can disable window's firewall under 'security' in control panel.0 -

Zonealarm is p*ss poor these days ~

You should also have recommended running the AVG REMOVAL TOOL before attempting to install another av program:idea:0 -

I think if we start to bicker it will only confuse the OP. That site has a commercial interest in those products as the recommended ones are paid for versions with a limited trial period. I believe they get a percentage from directing traffic.
I recommended ZA because it's a lot better than windows'.
You can uninstall with Ccleaner cleanly because I've done it.
Have a nice Xmas.0 -

Actually, windows is a lot safer than Zonealarms
What zonealarm DOES have is outbound filtering switched on by default
AVG ~ yes it will uninstall. But there have been many MANY cases (especially on this very site) where just uninstalling has left parts of AVG:idea:0
