Hi, is the person ur texting visiting there and has a UK mobile contract, you wont get charged if your on orange, i called and texted my boyfriend when he visited ireland, and the calls and texts came out of my allowance as he is on vodaphone uk
If it is a eire mobile, try a Lebera Sim, you can buy them in home & bargains for 79p, offers cheap texts and calls, think texts are 10p..the sim is in a blue packet:happyhear0 -
As above, if it's a UK SIM roaming there, that doesn't affect you.
If it's an Irish number, there is a work-around way to do this for almost free, for just a modest data cost if you don't have a free data allowance.
Irish mobile networks offer their customers a number of free online text messages when sent from their websites.
Other people have independently written programs to allow this logging in remotely, using mobile Java on your phone.
So get an Irish SIM card sent to you, then read about the programs called AFT and Cabbage, as discussed on the boards.ie forum
