Hi all,
Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was quite productive for a change - even managed to sort out the cupboard in our bedroom which I've been putting off for over a year
. In the end it only took 1 1/2hrs to do and now everything is grouped in clear boxes - hair stuff, skincare, fragrances etc. We had an embarasing amoutn of duplicates.
Had some great news when I came back from the gym this morning. Had my tax letter through which I opened with dread! Inside was a cheque for £846 :j:j:j. A few years ago I had paid £1000 at their request as they said I was on the wrong tax code. I always thought they were wrong but after some debate paid up anyway. Turns out they were :T. Plan to use the money towards the Virgin card which means that with next weeks pay I will be able to pay it off completely
.
Taks for the week are as follows........

Hi all,
Just checking in for the morning. I've got started on some cleaning and now off to look at finances and see if I can PAD anything to the debts today. My goal at the moment is to get rid of the virgin card asap. I have opened an ISA in Mrs Ging's name and plan to put as much money in there as possible before the end of the financial year. Wonder if I could reach the full £3600.....

Just had a look at my finances and decided to move things around and pay off my virgin credit card. Had a little savings and some surplus in other accounts so used that in the knowledge that I will be cashing the tax cheque tomorrow and have no outgoings this week. My bank account is looking very bare but this means that.....

Bit the bullet and late yesterday a skip was delivered to outside my house.
Can you guess what I'm spending the day doing???

Hi CP, thank for caring :A.
I have been reading up on the forums but haven't been posting. Partly this is due to half term but also because the return of the snow was not good for my emotional wellbeing and sometimes all my energy just about goes into making the kids think that eveything is ok IYKWIM.
Anyway, the snow is lifting and so is my mood
. Now I am surveying the damage to my finances, the state of the house, food cupboards etc that always seems to occur when I take my eye off the ball for a bit.
So, here's where I'm at.....
Pay Off £50K from Debts
Current debt sits at £145,08.85 which is £8500 ahead of where I need to be for the MFiT2 challenge. This is great as it gives me a nice safety cushion for if (or when:() things get tight later on. My money is very tightly managed and so I have no savings to use for 'problems' and would have to dip into my ISA's if necessary which I really don't want to do.
My goal now is to get £3600 into an ISA in Mrs GIng's name before the end of the fianncial year. Thanks to the tax refund and the fact that I have 3 fostering payments in March instead of two I think I might just about do this.
Lose 5 Stone
I have been going to the gym twice a week (Aqua and Salsacise) but I need to really focus on my eating. I'm not pigging out but also I'm eating more than i need and consequently not losing weight.
Clean Decluttered House
THE HOUSE LOOKS LIKE A BOMB HAS HIT IT!!!!!!! Partly due to half term (young boys aren't know for tidiness are they ) but also becuase I just have lost all my drive. The first part of half term was great as the skip was getting quite full although now it is sat there with loads of room and I know I have a lot more to do. Emptied and cleaned kitchen cupboards on sunday.... stuff still out now
. Discovered that we have tonnes of food but nothing that goes with other stuff and we are very low on basics... milk, squash, loo roll etc. Going to do an online shop now and get this sorted. Still haven't found a way to organise meals and grocery shopping that works for us. I write menu plans and they never get stuck to
.
Anyway, I will get back on top of things this week..... promise

Asda shop done and arriving tomorrow (£85). Now plan to spend £15pw on fruit, veg and missing items until the end of march. Basically, I need to use up what I have already got!
